Summer Day Camp Series at Duckworth Family Farm Session 1/3
PULSe 2 ~
Story Lab Series*
Located at Laguna Lab
Story Lab was a hands-on creative camp where young storytellers in grades 2-5 dove into the art of storytelling. Using a beloved fairy tale as their launching pad, campers explored how stories are built — then learned new ways of bringing stories to life. Through five creative disciplines — Story Structure, Storyboarding, Reader's Theater, Puppetry, or Stop Motion Animation — kids performed, drew, built and filmed stories. Campers developed tangible skills and the confidence of a storyteller who knows their voice matters. Check out the video to see more of our camper's creations!

Together we explored 1.5 miles of nature trails and spotted turkey tail mushrooms and wood rat nests along the way. We foraged plant press specimens, tasted miner's lettuce straight from the earth, and learned to identify poison oak like seasoned naturalists. Back at the farm, campers used red-cabbage-dyed filters as pH indicators to explore acids and bases — and turned their results into a beautiful decorative bunting. We tackled a farm-nature scavenger hunt, shook our own butter for a snack, got some quality time with the most adorable donkeys, built plant presses to take home, and yes — we absolutely concocted a legendary mud stew.
